Beaux Arts Châteaux

A stone project of this scale requires not only the stonemason’s skill, but it also requires a deep understanding of the logistics in quarrying, fabricating, shipping, engineering, and organization on the job site, coupled with strict quality control. After guided tours of French chateaux to gain inspiration for the classical Beaux Art’s style of this grand estate, QuarryHouse found Pierre De Villamonte Sandstone in southern Spain that met the structural needs of the building. The workroom utilized the photo images, and sketches gathered from the trip, to create carving drawings for the tympanum at the main entry, producing line drawings for the carver to use.
