presidio scenic overlooks

The Presidio Trust in partnership with the Golden Gate National Parks Conservancy hired QuarryHouse to build a network of scenic overlooks and vistas throughout the Presidio. For Inspiration Point, Crissy Field, and Immigrant Point Overlooks, the stonemasons constructed low stone seat walls and radial cut stone paving. A massive stone bollard marks the entrance to Immigrant Point from the Juan Batista de Anza Trail. Stone walls frame the National Cemetery Overlook inscribed with lines from an Archibald MacLeish poem, “The Young Dead Soldiers." The overlooks provide visitors with spectacular views of the Golden Gate Bridge, San Francisco Bay, Pacific, and the Presidio forest.
